Kim Delaney is an American actor who is most well-known for playing the role of Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she garnered an Emmy Award. Her appearances comprise All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney was born the sole child of her homemaker mother and senior executive from her union, the United Auto Workers. Delaney lived most of her life with her four brothers. As a child she was aspired to become an official in the courtroom. After graduating from high school, and moving into New York in the 1980s then she started modeling. Delaney was portrayed as an innocent child in the 1981 soap opera All My Children. Since then Delaney has been featured in many TV dramas and films. In contrast to her career success, her personal one is not as content and successful. The talented actor has been battling alcoholism and she has experienced two divorces. In 2005, her custody was removed from her.
